Eleven Pools · The Spa · The Tea Pavilion

The day, kept like a ritual.

More than one hundred thousand square feet of pools, gardens and salons above the bay, where wellness is simply how the day goes.

The Water

Eleven Pools, One Long Morning

The resort podium holds eleven pools across more than one hundred thousand square feet of garden. There is the Lagoon Pool, wide and unhurried among the palms; a terrace pool set at the edge of the bay; and the resort pool at the foot of the North Tower, ringed with loungers and shade.

Beside the water the day arranges itself: a cold plunge and a hot tub for the early hours, the pool café when the sun is high, and a hammock garden for the part of the afternoon that asks for nothing at all.

The Ritual

Tea at the Water’s Edge

Tea is one of the rituals of Mandarin Oriental, and here the custom has a building of its own: a pavilion of glass and patterned screen set on the shore, open to the breeze off Biscayne Bay. It is the quietest room of the house, and the one closest in spirit to Hong Kong and Bangkok.

Close by are the signature Mandarin Oriental spa, the heart of wellness on the island, and the private dining rooms, with their chef’s kitchens and a wine cellar with a tasting room. From there the sky bridge leads to the hotel.

Wellness

An Hour Under the Palms

Wellness here is less a place than a habit. A forest yoga lawn opens among the trees for the first light, and cabanas stand among the palms with their curtains drawn back to the bay.

None of it asks to be planned weeks ahead. It is simply there, a few steps from the elevator, in the way that a garden is there for a house.
